Kent County Council (KCC) gives notice that it will be necessary to close part of Grove Road, Preston and Wickhambreaux from 15th November 2021, with estimated completion the same day (15th November)
Grove Road will be closed between Stourmouth Road and Grove Ferry Road.
The alternative route is via Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Canterbury Road / Island Road, Grove Ferry Hill and Grove Ferry Road (note 18T weight limit on Grove Ferry Bridge) and vice versa.
For any vehicles over 18T in weight, the route is via Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 High Street, Canterbury Road, Wingham Lane, The Street (Ickham), Wickham Lane and Wickham Road back to Grove Road.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
