Kent County Council (KCC) gives notice that it will be necessary to close part of Grove Ferry Hill, Upstreet from 04th December 2021 at 22:00, with estimated completion by 6th December 2021 at 04:30.
Grove Ferry Hill, Upstreet will be closed in the general vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic (under 7.5T) is via Grove Ferry Road, Grove Road, Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road, Grove Ferry Hill and vice versa.
The alternative route for vehicles over 7.5T is via Grove Ferry Road, Grove Road, The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 Goberry Hill, Roman Road, Pedding Hill, Ash Bypass, Sandwich Road, Each End, A256 Sandwich Bypass, Ramsgate Road, Richborough Way, A299 Hengist Way, Canterbury Road West, A253 Canterbury Road and A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road and vice versa.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while essential drainage works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
