KCC (Kent County Council) gives notice it will be necessary to close part of Grove Ferry Road, Wickhambreaux from 06th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Grove Road heading northwards for approximately 730m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic (excluding vehicles over 7.5 tonne) is via Grove Ferry Road, Grove Road, Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road, Grove Ferry Hill and vice versa.
The alternative route for vehicles over 7.5 tonne is via Grove Ferry Road, Grove Road, The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 Goberry Hill, Roman Road, Pedding Hill, Ash Bypass, Sandwich Road, Each End, A256 Sandwich Bypass, Ramsgate Road, Richborough Way, A299 Hengist Way, Canterbury Road West, A253 Canterbury Road and A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
