Wickhambreaux and Ickham Parish Councils have joined together to form a joint Community Speedwatch Group.
Community Speedwatch is a road safety initiative that’s coordinated by Kent Police and run by local communities. Trained volunteers monitor the speeds of vehicles using approved ‘speed indication devices’ (SIDs).
The aim of the initiative is to:
- reduce death and injury on the roads
- improve the quality of life for local communities
- reduce the speed of vehicles to the speed limit
- increase public awareness of inappropriate speed
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
Please come along to an information session on Wednesday 13th September at 7pm in Wickhambreaux Village Hall. A representative from Kent Police will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have, and we hope to have a representative from Littlebourne’s Community Speedwatch group too.
