We know that apologies don’t empty bins. But we are truly sorry for the inconvenience the disruption to our waste collection service has caused.
We understand the anger and the frustration especially if you have not had a collection for some time.
If you have not seen a crew since before the snow and ice, you are our priority and you should leave your bin out until we can get to you.
We know in areas around the Nailbourne that we need to find a way to overcome the problems created by flood water and the river being in full flow. We are working on this as a matter of urgency.
Crews worked hard over the weekend to catch up and had a good day yesterday (Monday) including collecting the extra waste we said people could leave beside their bin this week.
It is worth remembering our new food waste collection vehicles are now fully operational. If the crew that normally collects your rubbish leaves your food waste behind, please leave the food bin out, as a separate crew should be along shortly.
Equally, your food waste may be collected before your main bin, so make sure your main bin stays out until it is emptied.
If your bin has been missed as part of its normal collection this week, please leave it out and report it.
Once we have caught up, there are lots of plans to improve our waste collection service but all of that is for another day.
